Why I haven’t Blogged since the Newtown, CT Tragedy!!

To all of my wonderful readers! I haven’t Blogged since the Newtown, CT Tragedy!! Why? There are so many things that I have to share, but it just didn’t seem like the time. We all were flabbergasted. And, posting about anything just didn’t seem right.

I have been at a complete loss for words, have cried so many tears, and have found it quite difficult to be online.

You see, I am Mother that has lost a child. Of course, it is in no comparison to what happened Friday. My first son passed away at the babysitter’s house, and I know the pain of burying a child right before the Holidays.

It is the most shocking and horrifying thing that no parent should ever endure. And, it is true that it is something that you can never get over. The pain will always be there.

(I am also the mother to wonderful son that has Asperger’s. The reporting or comparison of this horrible tragedy to People with Autism/Asperger’s has sickened me.)

By the way, Autism is Neurological and is in NO way a mental illness. People can have an overlapping diagnosis, possibly be labeled until the true diagnosis manifests itself, and can be in their early 20′s when their true diagnosis fully manifests. That is not Autism/Asperger’s in any way shape or form. I have known both types of people very well, and they are very different. And, speaking up for Autism does not mean that you are speaking against any other. Please have respect, and just because you are online, it does not mean that you are anonymous. These are children that we are talking about. Hopefully someday, we will have all the answers. But, first we must work together.

Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know a couple of things. One of the children that passed away had an Aunt and a Grandma that are Bloggers. He was a twin, and there are several organized funds that will help benefit the family’s costs. I have put together many items for donation to be auctioned on their behalf. I will let you know as soon as they have it posted, and hope that you will be able to participate.

You have no idea the amount of things that these families will need to even begin to try and get through any of this. And, of course there are things that no money can replace.

As we move forward over the next few weeks, let’s do everything that we can to make 2013 even better.

Thank-you to all the wonderful readers that make this blog  worth it!
